"A Northwestern University graduate student was the victim of a robbery on Noyes Street near Sherman Avenue near the Northwestern campus in Evanston on Jan. 5, 2012. At approximately 2:50 p.m. the student was walking east on Noyes when two men approached him and asked for his money. The victim stated he did not have any and the two men demanded that he show them his wallet. The two men then demanded that victim give him a credit card that was in the wallet. The victim gave them the credit card.
The student was not hurt and no weapon was displayed or implied.
The first offender was described as a male black, approximately 25 years of age, 6 feet tall, thin build, wearing a dark green fleece jacket, light green pants and a winter hat. The second offender was described as a male black, approximately 25 years of age, thin build, wearing a dark-colored fleece top with blue jeans and a red winter cap.
The incident is under investigation by the Evanston Police Department. Contact the Evanston Police Department at 847-866-5000 if you have any information that might assist in this investigation.
The University Police Department reminds all community members to report suspicious activities/persons immediately to University Police or Evanston Police by dialing 911 or by using a blue light emergency telephone."
